There’s nothing like a brisk morning run as the sun rises, especially when it includes raising funds to fight blood cancer and support blood cancer patients through Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This is a virtual run which participants may do on their own anytime.
This is a fundraiser for the Mighty Myeloma Fighters LLS Light the Night team, walking in the North Carolina Light the Night event Oct. 22. Registration to this virtual and real time 4 mile run is a minimum $25 contribution made to the Mighty Myeloma Fighters team.
All participants will receive a special Runners Bib, a Finishers Medal, and an opportunity to win one of three Prizes. The “First Place” receives a unique hand-made meditation bench with a plaque reading “Every Sun Rise 2016.” Second and Third place winners will receive an “Every Sunrise” inspirational photo book with sunrise pictures and inspirational quotes, prayers, and anecdotes.
The “rules” of the virtual race are that the participant runs, walk, bikes, skips, hops, or does whatever strikes their fancy, as long as somewhere along the way, the participant takes a #chasingeverysunrise photo and a selfie with the event bib.
For those so inclined, Andy Downs is hosting a group run of two laps around Shelley Lake (4 miles thereabouts) as we chase various vantage points for sun rise pictures. The run begins at 7 a.m., October 22, on top of the dam at Shelley Lake, Raleigh NC.
To qualify for the drawing, all participants must post thei sunrise pic and selfie on the event page.
